NYC Arabic Public School to Open In September
I'm not sure how they get away with the public funding part, then again, NYC does already have a public school exclusively for homosexuals.

NEW YORK -- New York City will get its first public school dedicated to Arabic language and culture in September.

Officials say that half of its classes will eventually be taught in Arabic.

The Khalil Gibran International Academy is among 40 new schools that the Department of Education is opening next academic year.

School officials say they are eager to recruit New Yorkers from a diverse background to the school -- not just those with Arabic backgrounds.

The school is named after a Lebanese poet and philosopher. It will eventually serve 500 to 600 students, all of them sixth graders.
