Men Charged For Tossing Explosive-Strapped Rabbit Into Lake ("Why Are People Judging Us?"):
"'I think that a lot of people are judging us without knowing us at all,' Sigmon said. Asked why he fitted Lucky with the explosive, he said, 'Um, that's a real tough question to answer.' "

ABC's lost Stephen Bing article:
"My goodness, where did the story go? At link: This content is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately for ABC I saved the story. Here it is in it's entirety before it was vanished on purpose?"

Bubba's Book Sales Stalled:
"According to political scientist Vyacheslav Nikonov, president of the Politika Foundation, the part of Clinton's book covering his 1970 trip to Moscow mentions 'a good old man from the KGB who held salutary talks with the young American.'
In the English version, Clinton identifies the Moscow man as Oleg Rakito, but says only that he 'worked for the government.' "

MIDDLE-EASTERN INVADERS CAUGHT CROSSING FROM MEXICO IN COCHISE COUNTY IN PAST SIX WEEKS:
"On or about the early morning hours of June 13, 2004 Border patrol agents from the Willcox station encountered a large group of suspected illegal border crossers, estimated to be around 158, just east of the Sanders Ranch near the foothills of the Chiricauha Mountains. 71 suspected illegal aliens were apprehended; among them were 53 males of middle-eastern descent. According to a Border Patrol field agent, the men were suspected to be Iranian or possibly Syrian nationals. "One thing's for sure: these guys didn't speak Spanish and after we questioned them harder we discovered they spoke poor English with a middle-eastern accent; then we caught them speaking to each other in Arabic -- this is ridiculous that we don't take this more seriously, and we're told not to say a thing to the media, but I have to," said the agent, who spoke to the Tumbleweed with the promise of anonymity. The New Anti-Semitism? [Anti-Americanism]:
"The stark lesson of the twentieth century is that socialism is a marvellous idea that doesn't work, and capitalism is a terrible idea that does. Unbelievably, inexplicably (to socialists), it turned out to be capitalism which delivered what socialism always promised: not all at once, not without bad episodes; not evenly, not at first for everyone, or even now for everyone; not quickly, and, certainly, not always willingly. But, in the end, it delivered. "
This whole piece is an excellent read.

Los Alamos shut down:
About time...
"'As of today, director Nanos has suspended all operations at the laboratory,' an internal e-mail obtained by Wired News read. 'This is a very serious step.'
'This willful flouting of the rules must stop, and I don't care how many people I have to fire to make it stop. If you think the rules are silly, if you think compliance is a joke, please resign now and save me the trouble,' Nanos added in a separate e-mail to Los Alamos employees. "
Chuckle. (Almost.)

Muslims Alarmed as Germany Plans Islamist Database:
"Vanhecke said, 'This is the kind of people we are dealing with - people who do not come to our country to adapt, to make a new life, to start again, to make a living, to be thankful for the country that accepts them. We are talking about people who, in fact, come to us as rulers, who want to become masters in our country. And I personally think, I fear, that this is a part of the Islamic religion.'"

Calif. Dems Block July 4th Tribute to Vietnam Hero:
"Expressing his dismay at the disgraceful conduct of his Democratic colleagues, Campbell noted that the Assembly has hosted celebrations in the past for Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick's Day and Chinese New Year's.
'But never once have we celebrated America's Independence Day,' he lamented."
