Wife Let Off Over Fatal Sherry Enema

Wife Let Off Over Fatal Sherry Enema
Everything is wrong with this story. Sorry I didn't post it on Friday, where it truly belongs.

A Texas woman has escaped being charged with negligent homicide after she killed her husband with a sherry enema. Tammy Jean Warner had been scheduled to go on trial over the death of Michael Warner, 58.

Tammy Jean and Michael WarnerBut Brazoria County District Attorney Jeri Yenne said the charges had been dismissed due to a lack of evidence.

She said the dead man had had a "severe alcohol issue" and it was not clear his wife had committed a crime.

"Let's say I have lung cancer and I continue to smoke. If you provide cigarettes to me, is that negligent homicide?" Ms Yenne asked.

"I really wrestled with the consent issue and negligence issue. I didn't think it rose to the level of negligent homicide."

Michael Warner, a machine shop operator, died at the couple's Lake Jackson home on May 21, 2004.

According to a post mortem report, Mr Warner had been given an enema containing enough sherry to produce a blood alcohol level six times the legal driving limit.

At the time his wife was indicted, Lake Jackson police detective Robert Turner said Michael Warner was a longtime alcoholic who sometimes used enemas to get drunk because a medical condition made it painful for him to drink.

Warner claimed her husband had been addicted to enemas since he was a child. She said he often used alcohol in that manner to get drunk.

72-year-old concerned citizen takes down suicide bomber

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RELEASE No. 20071018-04 October 18, 2007

FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU, Iraq – A 72-year-old man stopped a suspected suicide bomber from detonating himself at a checkpoint in Arab Jabour Oct. 14.

The man approached a checkpoint where Mudhehr Fayadh Baresh was standing guard, but did not make it very far. Baresh, a tribal commissioner and member of the Arab Jabour Concerned Citizens program, said he ordered the man to lift his shirt - using training received from Coalition Forces - when he did not recognize him as a local villager.

The suspect refused to lift his shirt. Baresh repeated the command again, and the suspect exposed his suicide vest, running toward the checkpoint.

Baresh opened fire which caused the vest to detonate, killing the suspect.

“I did it for the honor of my family and the honor of my country,” said Baresh.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bill Maher can add "security guard" to his job description alongside comedian and political commentator.

Maher helped security give the boot to a rowdy protester from the studio of his weekly HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday night, and it was all captured on live television.

Maher was talking science during one of his weekly panel discussions when a protester in his audience stood, held up a smuggled-in sign reading "9/11 is a cover up fraud" and shouted comments to the same effect.

The host tried to shout down the audience member, who only became more agitated.

"Do we have some (expletive) security in this building," Maher yelled, "or do I have to come down there and kick his (expletive)?"

When security reached the man's aisle and he resisted leaving, Maher ran into the seats and helped them push him out the door, shouting "Out! Out! Out!"

Several other protesters, sprinkled throughout the audience, then stood up and shouted.

"This isn't the Iowa Caucus, OK, we're not here to debate," Maher shouted with most of his audience cheering him on. "This is the problem with live television."

The incident was shown live on the East Coast, and the network appeared to show the entire affair unedited for the taped-delayed West Coast version.

After the instigators were ejected, Maher told his panelists — MSNBC's Chris Matthews, Los Angeles Times columnist Joel Stein and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson — that they often linger outside his studio to share 9/11 conspiracy theories with him and try to get into the show.

"It's the only time I defend Bush," he said.

Florida: Large Lizard Spotted In Tree Is One Of Several Terrorizing Neighborhood (4'and 6')
Ahhh... Florida.

A large lizard capable of eating small pets and injuring children spotted in a Central Florida neighborhood tree remains on the loose, keeping homeowners on edge.

The lizard, believed to be longer than 4 feet, was spotted Monday apparently trying to get to a nest in a tree near several Edgewood homes.

Neighbors said it is one of at least three dangerous lizards roaming the area.

"As we walk through the neighborhood, we are now looking up into the trees," homeowner Janie Drummond said. An 89-year-old woman has shut herself inside her home because of the lizard invasion.

"She won't come out," daughter of local homeowner Robin Adams said. "They've told her to stay inside so that's what she is going to do." Other homeowners are keeping their children and pets inside because of the possible danger. The reptile is being blamed for biting a large dog on the head.

"I think it's probably not a good thing to have him running around," homeowner Daymon Powell said. "There are kids in the neighborhood that could corner him and it might attack them." Local 6 showed a large crowd of people standing around the homes where the lizard was spotted.

"It is something to see," Powell said. Experts said the lizards can be aggressive and dangerous. They said they think the loose lizards may have been someone's pet and let loose in the area.
